Painted on a cloudy day at the fishing docks of downtown San Diego, this work explores the quiet poetry of boats at rest.

Boats have always fascinated me. Like people, they seem to live their own lives, carrying stories, memories, and moods shaped by time and travel. Each vessel has its own presence, and together they create a silent conversation across the water.

Built over a pale green underpainting and painted with a limited palette of earth colors, indigo, and carefully selected blacks, the work focuses on atmosphere rather than detail. The muted harmony of colors allows the silvery reflections and soft coastal light to emerge naturally.

For me, this painting is about stillness, reflection, and the hidden stories waiting beneath the surface.
