In this Plein Air painting, the giant palm trees look like stoics, they show stability and strength of spirit. To emphasize this I added the birds dissolving in the sky. The contrast of static palm trees and the soft movement of birds reminds me that the world is the same, but our vantage points differ. This is our choice to be stoics like palm trees or to flutter easily like birds.

This painting will take part of the exhibition of Art Guild San Diego Museum of Art at the Gallery 21 in Balboa park November 19 – December 2, 11 am – 4 pm
