I painted this work far from my home city. When physical space becomes unstable, the simplest things begin to carry meaning. Food, light, the warmth of a table — they become anchors. This painting is not about a meal. It is about continuity. About carrying home within yourself when geography shifts. I am not a soldier. I cannot stop the war. I can only witness and preserve what cannot be erased. Borscht is not a scream. It is proof of life.
